The First Adventure: Green Earth!

My sister has been a vegan for a few months now, so whenever I visit her it's vegan food for me!
You can read about her vegan adventures at Kinda...Sort of...Vegan
I'm actually excited to try different vegan foods! From the vegan foods I've tried so far, it's quite tasty!

Yesterday I dined at Green Earth Vegan Cuisine with my sister. I commented that it definitely seems to have a Southeast Asian influence. She told me about how many Asian cuisines, particularly Thai and Indian food, is easily converted into vegan food! Just another reason for me to be excited about vegan food :D. I love Asian food!

My sister order a Portabello Mushroom burger

I ordered Chow Mein with chick'un

They were so delicious! I especially loved my chow mein. I had been craving nice restaurant quality Asian food recently. The kind that isn't dripping with oil that dribbles down your lips (though I still find those foods good when I eat them!). I liked the chick'un taste too! I don't think of it as "fake chicken" because I think that would just lead to disappointment. I think of it as a yummy piece of Vegan food :D.

Everything was cooked just right! The pic doesn't do it justice! The noodles were packed with flavor! I think there was soy sauce in there but I'm not sure what else. They had just the right amount of firmness. Not too stiff nor soft, but the right amount of chewiness. I looooove noodles of all kinds, so this made my tastebuds very happy :). The vegetables were far from bland! I feel like they were cooked just long enough to bring out flavors to make you want more and not just eat them for health reasons. I wish I knew how to cook tofu the way they did in this dish! I'd eat all the time X).

Dessert was soooooo yummmy!

My sister and I shared Thai Banana Rolls with Soy Vanilla Ice Cream

The ice cream had such a wonderfully unique flavor! I thought it might have been some kind of almond ice cream. My sister and I kept wondering what flavor it was when the waitress told it us it was simply vanilla ice cream made with soy! :O The banana rolls were also so deliciously soft, crispy, sweet, and full of delicious banana!
I'll be having the leftover half of the chow mein for a late lunch :)

I may or may not being doing a reverse journal for the next couple of posts. By that, I mean I'll be posting foods I've eaten from previous days for a bit because they simply can't be left out! Until next time!
